Finally, A Sunscreen I Can Love

I've always hated my sunscreen.

Yes, I've long known the necessity of using the stuff. Exposure to the sun ultimately invites skin cancer, and skin cancer can kill you. But sunscreen is miserable stuff to use. It leaves you feeling greasy, stains your clothes, burns your eyes and dissolves plastics, meaning monofilaments and fly lines.

Until now.

SmartShield, which is available from any Temple Fork Outfitters fly rod dealer or TFO spinning rod/casting rod dealer, has solved all those problems. Suddenly, I don't hate sunscreen anymore.

SmartShield uses a hypoallergenic oil-free formula which absorbs quickly into your skin, and that results in a host of benefits. The first thing you'll notice is that it becomes dry on the skin, with no oily film to clog your pores. And because your skin absorbs SmartShield, this sunscreen doesn't wash off when you perspire. In other words, it's waterproof.

That leads to another advantage: SmartShield isn't going to get in your eyes when you perspire, a big benefit from my perspective.

And now for the biggie: Unlike the sunscreens I've used in the past, SmartShield doesn't eat plastic. I can't imagine how many hours I've spent over the years applying sunscreen, then trying to clean it off my hands before fishing. That might sound silly to some, but it's a serious issue for anyone who fishes. Rather, it was once a serious issue, but no longer. I've been liberated.

Speaking of materials that eat plastic, SmartShield even offers a DEET-free insect repellant and a sunscreen-insect repellant blend.

What else does SmartShield offer?

Too much for me to detail here, so check out the company's web site: www.smartshield.com
