The New BVK Fly Rods Arrive From Temple Fork

If you've been wanting to see the new BVK fly rods from Temple Fork Outfitters, get down to your dealer fast. The TFO warehouse started shipping the first BVKs last week, and I know of at least two dealers who have already gotten their deliveries.

My BVKs were waiting when I got home from a long road trip late Friday night: a 9-foot 5-weight, a 9-foot 6-weight, a 9-foot 7-weight and a 9-foot 8-weight. I was bushed, so I didn't find time to cast until Sunday afternoon. Well, I'm going to stand by my earlier comments: The BVKs are incredible. They are light, and they are responsive. A joy to cast. And when you consider the price, these rods are absolutely unbelievable.

How unbelievable?

I managed last week to put a BVK 7-weight in the hands of two exceptional casters at the Federation of Fly Fishers conclave in Mountain Home, Ark., and I asked them to rate the rod and guess its price. $600, they said. Had they not known they were casting a TFO, I've no doubt they would have guessed more. So imagine their surprise when I said $249.95.

I have only one concern about the BVKs: I worry that there won't be enough to go around, so you'd better not dawdle. Get down to your dealer, and pick up your new BVK today.
